CBSE UGC NET 2017 Result – CBSE UGC National Eligibility Test Result 2017

CBSE UGC NET Exam is a National Eligibility Test conducted by University Grant Commission (UGC) for Junior Research Fellowship or Assistant Professor or both in Indian Universities and colleges. The CBSE UGC NET exam is conducted twice a year in June & December every year.

Important Update : The result of Uttarakhand NET 2017 will be declared later in year after the exam being conducted in July.

About CBSE UGC NET 2017 exam

The Central Board of Secondary Education, announced that the National Eligibility Test will be held on the behalf of UGC for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals. CBSE will conduct NET in 83 subjects at 89 selected NET examination cities spread across the country.

Candidates who qualify the CBSE UGC NET – JRF are eligible to pursue research and also eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor. The performance in CBSE UGC NET papers will be taken into account for the award of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor both.

CBSE UGC NET 2017 Exam Eligibility

  • Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master degree OR equivalent examination /institutions recognised by UGC.
  • Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at qualifying the Master degree or whose result is still awaited.
  • Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their Post Graduation only.

Age Limit

For JRF : Not more than 28 years

For Assistant Professor : No upper age limit

CBSE UGC NET 2015 Exam Pattern

The test will be conducted in three phases (one paper in each phase) and will comprise mainly objective type questions in two distinct sessions. As per the information available on UGC’s official website, the first session will comprise of two phases : Paper I and II carrying 100 marks each. Paper I will include 60 questions out of which 50 are to be attempted, whereas Paper II will include 50 questions (all compulsory). The allotted time is 75 minutes per paper.

Meanwhile, the second session will comprise of only one paper (Paper III) carrying 150 marks. Paper III will include 75 questions (all compulsory) for which, candidates will be allowed a maximum of 2.5 hours.

How To Apply for CBSE UGC NET Exam 2017

Candidates can apply online for CBSE UGC NET 2017 on www.cbsenet.nic.in and pay the examination fee through e-challan/Credit/Debit Card on at any branch of (SYNDICATE/CANARA/ICICI BANK).

Selection Procedure

Minimum marks to be obtained in NET for considering a candidate for the award of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor :

The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper – III as given below :

A merit list (category & subject wise) will be prepared for candidates obtaining minimum marks in all papers. Top 15% in merit list will be eligible for Assistant Professor and a separate list for JRF.
